Fantastic jacket. Does exactly what it's supposed to do, very comfortably. Some observations:
Rain
====
I put this section first because it was a big part of why I bought the gear. I have ridden at highway speeds in a torrential downpour in this jacket a couple of times and stayed absolutely, completely, utterly dry. I've ridden with the vents open on 85 degree days and with them closed (without the thermal) in 49 degree weather. Easily the best waterproof garment I've ever owned.
I unexpectedly got caught in a squall in my Flowtour gear once. By the time I fumbled around getting the rain liner out of my pannier, I was already soaked. The Flowtour rain liner is fantastically water resistant and comfortable to wear under the shell, but wearing it underneath means your shell still gets soaked even if you don't. That will never be an issue with the Dritour gear. I rode 30 miles in a Noreaster today and hung the gear up basically already dry when I got home.
Heat
====
It gets a tad warm when you're stopped on hot days - though not noticeably warmer than my Flowtour mesh gear at temps up to at least 85 - but the vents are excellent when it's hot. On a very hot day it would probably be pretty warm when you're not moving but the ventilation is too good that I doubt I will wear my mesh gear much at anything under 95F or when there's zero chance of rain. The enormous single back vent works better than I expected to and the magnetic retainer keeps it neatly in place at highway speeds while it is open.
Forum experts pontificate that a venting system that relies on two chest vents and a rear vent is inadequate. I worried about that a bit but have found the venting to be excellent. The chest vents are large and positioned to gather a good amount of air, and the rear vent is enormous. All of the vent zipper pulls are covered by overlapping flaps in the closed position for water shedding. Great system.
Comfort
======
The collar is lightly snug on the neck when fastened but the velcro leaves room for adjustment. I do not find it problematic.
I have a long torso and have to stretch a bit to reach the zipper/pants connecting zipper but it zips easily and the set is very comfortable connected. So much so that I sometimes take off the jacket to hang it up before I realize it's zipped to the pants.
I've tried the jacket on with the thermal but never ridden with it. If you're really stretching downward to get into a lower size, you might find it snug.
Features
======
The magnetic pocket flaps are very convenient but a long additional horizontal magnet along the outer sides of the flaps would provide a bit more reassurance as that part of the pocket is unfastened.
The armor is pliable and extremely comfortable, and the armor pockets keep it in place nicely.
Size
====
The fit is comfortable but the size chart suggests you'll need a size larger than you probably do. I am 6'4" / 245 pounds with wide shoulders, and a 2XL jacket fits perfectly. My Flowtour jacket is a 3XL and is a bit too big although the adjustment straps make it fit reasonably well. The Dritour in 2XL fits like it was custom made. For what it's worth comparatively, I'm at the upper end of an XL in Klim jackets.
For reference, I wear a 48L suit jacket (hence why my Flowtour jacket is a 3XL - all I had to go on was the size chart) but had the benefit of already owning a Leatt jacket for sizing guidance. The size chart is close but as other reviews noted, not perfect.
Missing
======
The Flowtour has a chest pocket that's perfect for an Inreach Mini. The Dritour does not, which is a meaningful shortcoming. In theory, you could use one of the chest vents for that. I do not, because I would forget the Inreach was in there and lose it somewhere. You would also have to forfeit 50% of your warm-weather inlet ventilation. Hopefully a future iteration of the Dritour adds a pocket for that purpose.
The Dritour also does not have the hydration bladder pocket and routing system that the Flowtour has, because there isn't room with the large rear vent flap. I don't use the hydration system on my hot-weather jacket so that isn't a loss for me but it might be for you. I'd rather have the vent.
Would I buy it again? Absolutely. I may never buy another set of adv gear until this one wears out.
